Paris: Printed for the Author, and Sold by Edward W. Titus, 1928.

First edition, copy number 83 of 1050 copies, privately printed for the author and with the information on Edward Titus blacked out. Near Fine with light soiling and light shelf wear to wraps, slight wear at spine ends, a small nick to the bottom of the front free end page and a few bits of foxing throughout. A very lovely copy of this fragile production. Barnes' novel based on a Parisian lesbian social circle centering around Natalie Clifford Barney's salon--and debatably either a loving satire or a bitter attack on such. Written in archaic Rabelaisian style, illustrated by the author with styled Elizabethan woodcuts. Item #170518004
