Inscribed by the author on the front end paper to a Mrs. McClain, signed and dated July 3rd, 1940. 254 p. Near Fine in Very Good+ dust jacket. A bit of dust soiling to grey cloth, tiny tear to head, else fine. Dust jacket is in quite nice shape: no fading. Small tear to head, light rubbing and edge wear, three little holes at fore edge of back panel. A few small purplish blotches on front flap, transferred from excess ink on signature on ffep. Burns, co-author of I am a Fugitive from a Georgia Chain Gang, turned his attention to women in prison with this sensational expose of drug use, lesbianism, and abuse of authority. Item #150519007
