An early examination of lycanthropy in folklore and popular culture. Eliott O'Donnell, a prolific British paranormal research best known for his work on ghosts, addresses the werewolf phenomenon in countries across Europe. Werewolves have existed as mythological figures for centuries, but interest in them has waxed and waned. The first werewolf movie was released a year after this book was published, sparking something of a werewolf revival.
