After focusing on what she considered "failed revolutions" in Origins of Totalitarianism, with this work she turns her focus to two successful revolutions of the 18th century: the French and American Revolutions. She compares and contrasts them, finding the social conditions that gave rise to the American Revolution ensured the new republic it birthed would be more stable and less punitive. Uncommon in such excellent shape, even more so signed.
