A great association copy signed and inscribed on the half title page to the author's girlfriend turned friend, Valerie Estes, "This copy is for Valerie [Estes] Richard Brautigan July 27th, 1968. [vi], 159 pp. Bound in publisher's printed wraps. Near Fine with lean to binding, light creasing to spine, light toning and wear to wraps with a short split at the foot of the front joint, and two newspaper clippings related to Brautigan laid in at 68-69 pp. with associated offsetting. Valerie Estes was an active participant in the San Francisco literary scene. She graced the cover of his spoken-word record Listening to Richard Brautigan,1969. The two remained good friends until the author's suicide in 1984.
