A scarce monograph documenting street life in the artist's native Cologne. Photographer Chargesheimer (AKA Karl Heinz Hargesheimer) shows everyday Germans trying to return to normalcy amidst the lingering wreckage and despair of the last war. With an essay by Nobel Prize-winning author Heinrich Boll, perhaps the best-known chronicler of this period in Germany.
