Ibadan, Nigeria: Mbari, 1968.

Contributor Akin Euba's copy, signed by him on the upper corner of the contents page. 58 [1] pp. Bound in publisher's stapled wraps after a design by Bruce Onobrakpeya . Very Good+ with toning and light wear, soiling to rear cover, contents lightly thumbed. A nice copy of the periodical that codified African artistic production, with a contribution, The Language of African Music, from Euba, a musicologist and composer, on 44p.. Here Euba argues that African music extends far beyond supposed traditional drumming into instruments like the harp, flutes, zithers and more. His compositions, which were considered quite radical for the time, fused traditional Yoruba methods with contemporary classical musicology. Item #140948916
