A classic physics text by a major theoretical physicist. Bohm obtained his PhD under J. Robert Oppenheimer and, like his mentor, was later hounded for his Communist affiliations. He lost his job at Princeton after refusing to cooperate with the House Un-American Activities Committee, and at the time that this book was published was teaching at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. The book has gone through many editions since its initial publication.
