Near Fine with light rubbing to extremities and fraying at head of spine, slight bumping to corners, and fading to topstain. Light toning to contents and faint offsetting from jacket to endpapers. In a Very Good unclipped dust jacket with moderate wear and toning and chipping at head and tail of spine.
The first edition of Heilbroner's classic study of the universal drive to acquire wealth and goods. The recipient is likely the David Beres who served as president of the American Psychoanalytic Association in 1963; Heilbroner credited Beres with providing "various psychoanalytic references" for another of his books.
