[Denver?]: [District no. 15, United Mine Workers of America], 1914.

First edition, first printing. 91, [1] pp, illustrated throughout with black and white photos. Bound in publisher's printed side-stapled wraps, measures 9 x 6". Near Fine with light toning and minor creasing to covers, faint soiling to upper corner of page 35.

A rare pamphlet on one of the bloodiest labor clashes in American history. The attack on Ludlow Tent Colony was carried out by paramilitaries funded by the mining companies and dressed in National Guard uniforms. It resulted in the deaths of around 21 people, including many women and children. The massacre remains of powerful symbol of the repression faced by workers in America, and (for the massive labor reforms that happened in its wake such as the eight-hour day and child labor laws) also a symbol of labor reform. Includes a photograph portrait of labor organizer Mother Jones, as well as political cartoons and photos of corporate members. Item #140948105
