The Harlem Renaissance poet's only novel about class society in New York City. In the scarce dust jacket designed by illustrator, muralist and sculptor Charles Alston (1907-1977). An active member of the Harlem Renaissance, Alston painted murals for the Harlem Hospital and was most famous for creating a bronze bust of Martin Luther King, the first work of art depicting an African American displayed in the White House.
