Hollywood
Santa Rosa: Black Sparrow Press, 1989.
Uncorrected proof of Charles Bukowski's roman a clef about his time as a screenwriter for the movie Barfly. One of 100 copies thus. 239, [1] pp. Bound in publisher's yellow printed wrappers. Near Fine with light soiling and soft creasing to covers, very shallow dent to left lower margin of first 20 or so pages. Contents clean and spine uncreased. When Bukowski was hired to write the screenplay for a movie based on his own life, the experience became grist for his next novel. His sardonic take on the entertainment industry was described by a New York Times reviewer as "a classic in the take-the-money-and-don't-run category of Hollywood fiction." Krumhansl 12a. see note.
