In a Very Good unclipped dust jacket with small circular sticker at foot, toning, soiling and light edge wear; tape repairs to verso. Coles' study of children in response to his time spent counseling Ruby Bridges and other African American children after desegregation in New Orleans. The author would later go on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1973.
