A fantastic association copy of the first edition, first printing. Limited to 500 [i.e. 525] copies signed by Ashton Clark Smith, this is copy number 515. A presentation copy signed by Smith and inscribed to artist Virgil Finlay on the title page: "For Virgil, from his fellow / carver of images, / Klarkash-Ton. / Dec. 3rd, 1937." Additionally inscribed by Finlay to small press publisher Gerry de la Ree. This copy has corrections throughout the text in Smith's hand, including major revisions to "The Ghoul and the Seraph." [i-iv] v-vii [viii-x] 1-152 [153: blank] [154: colophon] pp. Bound in publisher's maroon cloth lettered in gold; issued without dust jacket. Near Fine with trivial darkening to spine and light wear at tips. Inner hinges slightly exposed and endsheets offset. The author's privately printed collection of poetry inscribed to and by the cult favorite sci-fi/fantasy illustrator Finlay and small press publisher Gerry de la Ree (1924-1993).
