First edition. lii, 172 pp. Bound in publisher's drab green binding beautifully decorated in black Art Nouveau motifs with illustrated paper panel at center, spine lettered in gilt. Illustrated with a color frontispiece, and three color plates. Very Good+ with slight fading to spine and rubbing to gilt lettering. Bowing to boards with slight rubbing to illustrated panel and light wear at extremities. Dust soiling to top edge, faint foxing to contents and bookseller's ticket at rear pastedown. A lovely work of Celtic folklore and mythology initially written in manuscript by John Francis Campbell in 1862. Henderson, a Gaelic scholar, took over the work after Campbell's death in 1885.
