A fantastic presentation copy, signed by Clark Ashton Smith on the front free endpaper and inscribed to artist Virgil Finlay in the year of publication, "For Virgil, with the profound envy of a fellow-aspirant in pictorial art, from Klarkash-Ton Dec. 3rd 1937." Bound in publisher's linen-backed boards lettered in black. Near Fine with slight lean to binding, light soiling and corners rubbed; lacking the scarce dust jacket. Typographical error on page 16 corrected by hand (possibly by Smith). Three-page essay, "The Prince of Poetry" by David Warren Ryder, printed to accompany the book is laid-in. A collection of ten poems, selected and revised by Smith, that had been published earlier in The Star-Treader and Other Poems(1912). Item #140946495
