Near Fine with light wear to cloth at extremities, nearly-imperceptible fading to spine cloth, foxing to textblock edge and sporadically to contents as well. An unusually sharp and bright copy, housed in a custom chemise case. Copies of the first trade edition which are signed are considerably more scarce than those of the signed limited edition. The British author's final and best-known novel, which inspired the 1984 film by David Lean. Routinely named to lists of the best novels of the 20th century.
