Issues 1-25 of the famous fetish and bondage magazine, plus mail order advertisement with loose sample images and ads for Fantasia Footwear. Nearly complete as a run except for the final issue (No. 26). Stapled wraps. A Near Fine set, generally excellent, bright and very clean with little wear. Chipping to corner of front wrap of No. 7, back wrap corner chipped. Publisher's stamp to back of No. 9. First issue dated "1954," either a misprint for "1945" or printed at a later date; best guess is the former. Slight corner crease to Nos. 10 & 13's front wraps. Slight bump to No. 20. Illustrated profusely from photographs and drawings by Coutts and guest artists such as Mahlon Blaine.Betty Page graces the cover of No. 14, ad Marilyn Monroe is photographed in the inner front wrap of No. 23. Scarce as a run.
An influential illustrated sexual fetish, bondage, and S&M magazine, the first 20 issues of which were edited, published and largely illustrated by John Coutts under the pseudonym"John Willie." It managed to avoid the rampant censorship of the day by not overtly depicting nudity, homosexuality, violence, or other contemporary taboos but was nonetheless a trailblazing publication that influenced the sexual artwork of the '60s and '70s immensely and has often been collected and reprinted.
