First edition, first printing, American issue. Bound in publisher's original yellow paper-covered boards with rear cover blank with Whitefriars Press slug at rear following last page of text. Near Fine with light soiling and light wear at edges, slight natural wave to pages, former owner name in pencil to verso of title page but overall a bright and attractive copy. In a Good restored dust jacket which is soiled, and trimmed roughly a quarter-inch shorter than the book; the British issue jacket was used for the American, and the Heinemann imprint is present at the foot of the spine and the flaps are blank.
