It examines criminality and delinquency in American society with an emphasis on empirical data, psychological testing, and understanding the influence of environment on children, rather than advocating that criminality was biologically inherited, as was common at the time. Kellor had a nearly fifty year relationship with Mary Dreier, a wealthy suffragette.
