First edition. Association copy signed by both Dick Higgins and Nam June Paik, two major figures in the interdisciplinary avant garde Fluxus movement. First gifted and inscribed "for Paik by dick" on the front free endpaper, dated October 21, 1964; then inscribed to another person and signed by Paik on the following page. A few checkmarks in margins at beginning of Postface, could be Paik's. xii, 271; xii, 89 pp. Publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering. Near Fine with a little reading wear and toning in a Very Good+ unclipped dust jacket.
The inaugural publication of Higgins' Something Else Press, two books by Higgins dos a dos: Jefferson's Birthday, a compilation of everything Higgins wrote in a roughly one year period, and Postface, an account of the Fluxus movement. Higgins was a co-founder of the movement. Paik was a well-known participant in it who is most often cited for his pioneering video art and performance work.
