Footsteps
Zurich: RecRec Music, 1989.
Original pressing. One of 1,000 copies used to line the floor of the Shedhalle gallery in Zurich from June 4, 1989 to July 16, 1989 and walked on by the patrons, the damage and soiling to the vinyl creating unique noise patterns/alterations to the existing record's contents (recordings of footsteps, fittingly) when played. Sound art meets conceptual art. Christian Marclay is an American turntablist, artist, and composer who has been active since the late '70s. Contents complete, including fold-out poster, inner sleeve, and liner notes. Poor single-sided LP (what is condition, anyway, in such a piece?) in Very Good box sleeve, small tear to top edge, tape repair to verso. Duct tape remnants to blnk verso. Uncommon.
Price: $800
