Very Good or better with rubbing to cloth at spine ends and corners, several small stains to covers, though gilt and black stamping remains very vibrant and sharp. Front hinge a bit weakened under the weight of the text block. A lovely and bright copy, featuring illustrations based on Muybridge's pioneering stop-motion photographs of Leland Stanford's galloping horse, laying the groundwork for the invention of the motion picture camera.
