Salesman's dummy copy of the first edition. (Dykes p. 16. Howes 933.) Spine of leather edition laid down on paste down, frontis, title page, and about thirty pages of text interspersed with color illustrations, with ten page ledger at rear for subscribers to sign up for recieving the book (three names penciled in, two of whom preferred the more expensive leather edition). Original navy cloth lettered in gilt. Good only with stained cloth, exposed tips and rubbed gilt, offsetting to fep from leather spine laid down on paste down, hinge at front split, foxing to endsheets. A rare salesman's dummy copy of a popular wild west account profiling the Younger Brothers and the James Gang. Item #171123004
