First edition. Signed by Jean-Michel Basquiat in blue ink on verso of title page, copy #984 in the limitation of 1000. Bound in publisher's red cloth with gray spine lettering. Very Near Fine with hint of foxing to paste downs, slightly musty, in a Near Fine dust jacket with light shelf wear, foxing to verso.

A deluxe signed limited catalogue issued for the African American painter's one-man exhibition at Gallery Bruno Bischofberger in Zurich, January 19 - February 16, 1985. This work features a black and white photo frontispiece of of the artist taken by Jeannette Montgomery and twelve full page illustrations of his paintings, including a fold-out triptych. Basquiat would die of an overdose only three years later, unfortunately a member of the 27 club. Books signed by him have become quite uncommon. Item #140945603
