Faint crease to the front cover, short split to the top of the front spine joint and a small former owner bookplate to inside the front cover. A very lovely copy of this fragile production. Barnes' novel based on a Parisian lesbian social circle centering around Natalie Clifford Barney's salon--and debatably either a loving satire or a bitter attack on such. Written in archaic Rabelaisian style, illustrated by the author with styled Elizabethan woodcuts. Item #140944597
