The Cereologist: The Journal for Crop Circle Studies (Issues 1-7)

London: The Cereologist, 1990-1992.

The first seven issues of an early '90s journal (later spelled with an "A," The Cerealogist) devoted solely to the phenomenon of crop circles: unusual formations and patterns in farmed fields. They were one of the most popular Fortean subjects of the '90s, next to UFOs, with which some have linked them. The editor, John Michell, was an important figure in 20th century esoteric thought and a chronicler of great eccentrics in his book Eccentric Lives and Peculiar Notions. Stapled wraps. Near Fine. Uncommon.

Includes five small pieces of Cerealogist-related ephemera: the booklet After the Harvest: An Illustrated History of Crop Circles, an order form for the magazine with details about the second annual Cornference, an ad for a slipcase for one's issues, an ad for the VHS tape Cosmic Code or Natural Force?, and an invitation to the annual crop circle-making competition.
