Except for the advertisements, the contents and pagination of the 1884, 1885, 1886 and 1887 printings are identical. The milestone cookbook from the first principal of the Boston Cooking School and a student of Maria Parloa. Bound in contemporary black pebbled cloth with new black leather spine lettered in gilt. Pages soiled or foxed throughout, chip to top corner of title page, fore edges occasionally worn, an amateur repair to one leaf (pages 304/305).
