First edition. Signed by E.W. Thomson on front free endpaper, inscribed to former owner in the year of publication. 295 pp. Publisher's gray cloth with white, black, and red stamping. Very Good with rubbing to spine, cloth a little stained and toned. A collection of adventure stories that originally appeared in Youth's Companion, many designed for a family audience, not just young adults. Thomson (1849-1924) was a Canadian author who moved to Boston in 1891 and stayed for ten years, ghostwriting many stories in the magazine under pseudonyms; his signature is uncommon. Item #140941611
