A long-running comic strip (1932-2018) of a boy who communicates mainly via pantomime, created when Anderson was 67 years old. Among the strip's accolades have been for its ingenuity for wordless storytelling and positive treatment of African American characters in the '30s and '40s when other portrayals were generally negative.
