Good+ with some general wear and soiling to cloth, rubbing to extremities, chipping to spine ends; front hinge cracked, scattered foxing and occasional finger soiling, dampstain to bottom edge of rear endpapers.

A well-written account of Yankee pioneer life in Michigan. The author bought 80 acres of land near present-day Dearborn in 1832 to farm, only to mortgage the property in the depression of 1837 and find that hunting eventually had to provide almost all his family's sustenance.
