First edition stated, first printing of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Bound in publisher's original brown paper-covered boards over green cloth spine. Near Fine with light lean to binding, light foxing to spine cloth and light toning to pages. In a Very Good or better price-clipped dust jacket still identifiable as the correct first printing dust jacket with the Jonathan Daniels quote on the rear flap; light fading to front panel near spine, wear at extremities, small pencil mark to rear panel, light creases to the flaps and very light staining. A lovely copy of one of the most beloved novels to come out of the 20th century, which had an initial print run of just 5,000 copies. Item #140940616
