Good+, lacking jacket, with rubbing to cloth, dulling to gilt, small tear near head, bumped corners, binding a bit shaken, a few dog-eared pages, limited underlining and notes in easily-erasable pencil. A classic study of the American character circa the mid-20th century. In a 2001 review for The National Post Robert Fulford called this book, "A literate and daringly speculative book, altogether different from the narrow and nervously guarded assemblies of statistical data that often make sociology a synonym for dreariness."
