[Edward Estlin Cummings, 1894-1962]: Oil on wood measuring 12.5" x 15.75, in a vintage wooden frame with a brass title plaque. Not signed, a characteristic common in most of Cummings' artwork. Light toning and dust-soiling to painting, several faint, small abrasions to surface. Wood frame is moderately worn. Taped notation and catalog number from the Gotham Book Mart to back of frame and rear cardboard backing. When the Gotham Book Mart opened a gallery on the floor above their bookshop, the inaugural exhibit featured watercolors and drawings by E.E. Cummings. Item #140938935
