Second edition, revised. Signed by Bessie L. Munson and inscribed to a former owner Wayne Ingram on the first blank page. Publisher's plastic-comb bound stiff orange wraps printed black. Very Good. Wear to wraps along yapped edges; several small, sporadic stains throughout; pages toned.

Munson grew up on a farm in East Texas, learning to cook from her mother and grandmother. After studying at the Fort Worth Vocational School, Munson went on to become a caterer and restaurateur, serving at local events and for public figures such as Franklin D. Roosevelt. She continued her education, studying under Helen Corbitt at Neiman Marcus, and returned to Fort Worth to help set up gourmet food preparations and organize the kitchens of the area's upscale restaurants. In 1979, she won the Pioneer Business Woman's Award from The Negro Business and Professional Women's Club. Item #140938054
